After seven years of working with my father in a refinishing business in Madison, WI, he retired and I struck out on my own. I started in January 1984. I had a router. By June I had my first jointer, and a week after that the transmission in my van broke down. If I hadn’t bought the jointer when I did, I’m not sure I’d have it to this day. My first winter I labored in an under-heated two car garage converted to a shop. Wearing, most of the time, a winter jacket. Life was good, and still is.
My primary business activity for thirty or so years has been serving the Household Goods Moving Industry, by doing inspections, photographs, claim reports, and handling all aspects of repairs to transit damage goods. When not doing that, I’ve kept busy mending and refinishing chairs, rockers, conference tables, bedroom furniture: just about anything and everything made of wood or made to look as though it were made of wood.

I also have indulged my love of furniture making, and invite you to visit my photos pages to see just what exactly it is that I have made.

I work mostly alone, and can often do over-the-phone quotes or am happy to view photos of furniture damages you may want to send to me via email (see my home page for the email link), Pick up and delivery services are available, of course.

For those who care, I write a general blog which can be found at
